Mark Tansey
Many of Tansey's paintings are monochromatic and because of this they may seem old-fashioned. His technique involves laying a layer of monochrome pigment on canvas that can be changed easily before it dries. This leaves him only a short amount of time to make any changes.
Ask yourself: How does Tansey's choice of color effect the mood of his paintings?

Tansey lives in downtown New York City. He gets inspiration from photographs and magazine clippings. He creates small sketches and drawings until he is ready to create the final painting.
